Biography

Since 2022, Sang Hoon Lee has been leading the Korea Energy Agency (KEA), which is in charge of improving energy efficiency in industry, transportation and building sectors and promoting renewable energy. Previosly, he served as the executive director of the New and Renewable Energy Center affiliated to the KEA. He started his civil society activities in the field of environment and energy over three decades ago, and has served as the director of the Green Energy Strategy Institute, as research director of the Center for Climate Change at Sejong University and as deputy director general of Friends of the Earth Korea.
