The World Climate Industry EXPO (WCE 2023) will be held from May 25(Thu.) to May 27(Sat.) (May 24, Pre-Event) at BEXCO, Haeundae-gu, Busan, to showcase the latest technologies and policies in the global climate environment and energy fields to cope with the climate crisis.
In particular, it is held by integrating the Energy Industry Exhibition and the Carbon Neutral Exhibition in the Seoul metropolitan area and the International Environmental Energy Industry Exhibition (ENTECH) held in Busan. The WCE will host three exhibitions featuring the latest technologies in the energy sector.
Therefore, many organizations and institutions have joined forces. It is organized by Government agencies such as the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Security and Public Administration, Busan Metropolitan City, World EXPO 2030 Bid Committee, Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Korea International Trade Association.
This year's WCE theme will be "Rising above the Climate Crisis towards Sustainable Prosperity" linked to the theme of the WORLD EXPO 2030 BUSAN (Transforming Our World, Navigating toward a Better Future), which will showcase a variety of new technologies for responding to climate change and carbon neutrality.
The WCE consists of Pre-event, Opening ceremony, Exhibition, Conference, and Side events in detail.
The Exhibition will be decorated with △Net-Zero Tech Zone, △Clean Energy Zone, △Energy Efficiency Zone, △Future Mobility Zone, △Financial Institutions Special Zone △Climate & Environmental Tech Zone △ World EXPO 2030 BUSAN Promotion Zone.
The Conference consists of Leaders Summit involving heads of major global city organizations that advocate carbon neutrality, Business Summit involving domestic and foreign business people, and City Summit Roundtable involving diplomatic envoys.
By date △ 24th, Pre-Event and Welcome Reception △ 25th, Exhibition, Opening Ceremony, Business Summit, The New York Times A New Climate △ 26th, Exhibition, City Summit, Business Summit and Plenary Sessions △ 27th, Leaders Summit, Closing Ceremony (Dream Concert), Start-up Public Pitching, and Industrial Inspection.
These events will be distributed in BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1, Exhibition Hall 2, Conference Hall on the second floor, and Conference Hall on the third floor.
The WCE 2023, the largest event in Korea as a single event, will be attended by officials from the central government, local governments, and international organizations, as well as major domestic and foreign companies with global carbon-neutral innovation technologies and policies.
Also, everyone who wants to experience the new climate industry technology that will lead the 21st century will attend.
The government plans to make this event the level of CES, the world's largest consumer electronics and IT (Information Technology) fair, to foster climate change-related industries and show its ability to host the 2030 World Expo.
Busan Metropolitan City will also show that it has vision, willingness to implement, and high-tech skills as a leading carbon-neutral city in response to the climate crisis.
