Seong Lee SK ecoplant / Vice President

Seong Lee is the Vice President and Board Secretary-General for ESG strategic planning & management at SK ecoplant’s ESG Center. She is an expert in environment-related business issues with more than 20 years of experience in South Korea and the United States. After joining SK ecoplant (formerly SK Construction) in 2012, Seong operated a number of programs to establish systems and processes for environment-conscious management and foster an eco-friendly corporate culture, and laid the groundwork for carbon footprint management to disclose carbon information through CDP (2012-2018). Recently, she led the effort of the SK Group to incorporate social values into business management practices and to ensure that social values guide the group’s business portfolio to contribute to a circular economy (2019-2022). In 2004-2010, Seong participated in the New School Construction Program of the Los Angeles Unified School District in the U.S. state of California to serve as the Project Manager for Health Risk Assessment and Air Quality Assessment. She also took part in the Environmental Impact Report process, which is based on the California Environmental Quality Act and known as the best environmental impact assessment in the United States. Seong completed the Ph.D. course in environmental engineering and sciences at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), earned her master’s degree in environmental health sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in biology education.
