Jens Bøgsted Orfelt joined RWE Renewables as the President of Asia-Pacific of Offshore Development in 2021. Jens is an experienced, highly motivated leading senior management renewables professional with a global reach and more than fifteen years of practice. He carries with him experience from all stages of offshore wind farm cycles ranging from origination and development, sourcing and financing to execution and operation. In recent years the focus area of his career has been on project development and execution in emerging markets within Asia Pacific. Jens is based in Tokyo and prior hereto he spent four and a half years in Taiwan.

From 2008 to 2018, Jens Orfelt practiced with longlasting experience from the construction and civil engineering industries acting as both in-house and external counsel as well as in procurement and contract management roles including procurement of multiple large scale transmission assets in wind farms in Northern Europe.

Jens Orfelt holds a Master’s degree in law from the University of Copenhagen and trained as a Public Prosecutor in the Danish Ministry of Justice and subsequently as a trainee and junior lawyer in Copenhagen. He is married and a loving father of three children.

Jens Orfelt has 16+ years of hands experience (last 5+ years in Asia-Pacific) within energy law and all cycles of numerous renewables projects ranging from early-stage development, financing, sourcing & execution to end of warranty close outs. Personal footprint of 10+ GW developed capacity.

Oversee matters such as site identification, permitting, government relations, site investigations, programming, early project governance, local and global supply chain activities, joint venture partner interactions etc. Jens Orfelt is well acquainted with project objectives, client requirements, HSE culture implementation and empowerment, funding, budgeting and cost estimating, cash-flow requirements, planning, development and management of resources, internal and external stakeholder management as well as risk/opportunity management.

Oversee RWE’s development and market build-up activities across Asia-Pacific, herein Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, India and Australia.
